Yes I am using my own keys, both in HKCU & HKLM for workstation setting, these are more global settings that are set across the network for an application.
Maybe I'm over complicating things, It's just that I have some new "plug ins" that serve a number of applications, and the plug in needs to know accross the network which products it is licenced for and some settings. I wanted to avoid each workstation having these settings and wanted the plugin to be intelligent enough to know when "approached" by an application what that application was allowed to do.
I thought that if the plug in could keep settings on each possible application then that would be neat.
If Jay can tell me how he uses a seperate REG file great, if not I'll go for INI layout or possibly XML.
