Sounds interesting. Mike Asherman has MONTAGE publicly available, which also goes some way in this issue.
But I want to comment on your "people who are crazy enough...".
My guess is that such people will NEVER use such a thing - they have all those open windows because they don't understand the impact and are just 'trying to get at the next thing they need to complete the current job'.
2 days ago a friend was complaining that his system had slowed to a crawl. He had open:
- 9 IE windows
- 6 Outlook windows
- 5 Word windows
- several other 1-of windows
...on his 512MB motebook.
I can't see him ever implementing a product like you describe, and if he did it would really only hide the problem even deeper.
cheers
>Searching for a program capable of managing multiple desktops, I found a freeware called MultiDesk. It works great in Windows XP, despite the fact that it is marked as "Beta", and was not tested with Windows XP, according to the author.

>The idea is that those people who are crazy enough to open many, many windows at a time, may like to organize the windows into different "desktops". Once a particular desktop is selected, all other windows are hidden. Any window is assigned to one desktop; it is also possible to have "global" windows, which appear in all desktops.
