I've mentioned in the past that most of the VB PM team has VFP on their machines - not to mention a number of them are ex Fox folks as well (even the PUM was at Fox in Perrysburg before the acquisition). It's just extending from there.
One thing to note though - you'd be surprised at the data-based business apps folks build with .NET today. They may build them differently - but they are pretty amazing things also. As much time as I spend getting .NET folks to 'get' Fox, I think it also behooves Fox folks to 'get' .NET. We can all learn from each other.
But I agree about the wider pool. I think that VS 2005 will have a ton more to offer... And it'll continue to grow from there.
