Again, try it with a macro.
Normally you would first select a cell or a range, then apply the format. Doing the macro and reading the code is very instructive.

Depending on your code, you could use xlApp.ActiveCell or define a range:
loRange=xlApp.Range("A1").Select
then apply the format to the selection.
