>>Hi Rick.

>>The right tool for the job. And my choice on the Web would clearly go to .NET. Remember I'm saying this having an interest in FoxPro technology on the Web as I sell a product in this space. I think pure ASP.NET (not using COM) is clearly better technology than anything you can do with Fox. Web Connection included. And definitely ASP+COM (or ASP.NET + COM).

>Some people only occasionally drop a response here and do not (or only selectively) respond on responses they get. That's what I also observe here. Several people responded to Rick's post and only one of them got a short reply. Two others got no reply. Especcially Walter Meester took the time to respond and he deserves a serious response, most notably by Rick. Why does Rick not reply???? Don't tell me that he has no obligation to reply. Sure, no one can force him to reply (it's a free world), but a moral obligation does exist, IMO. My esteem of Rick depends also on how he deals with replies.

>I still remember how Whil Hentzen used this forum to ventilate his opinions about some of 'us'. He wrote only one post and replied to not even a single reply. My esteem of him has since then gone down a lot. In my eyes, he did some bad pr at that time.

>Rick, you're an opinion leader. But in my eyes you only deserve that position if you also participate in the discussions and respond on responses.

Peter,

Here we enter in a delicate situation.

Some topics discussed will put some persons in direct conflict of interest.
So instead of possibly blasting a friend I guess that you won't be surprised that they prefer to remain silent. Or if they respond they will try to make you believe that they think everything is OK.

So instead or replying with "garbage" and lose their credibility they prefer to not respond. Perhaps some touchy subject.

There's a saying in french that I'll translate in english "It's better to not talk and look like a fool then talk and prove it." <g>
