It's not that Fox 8 doesn't recognize cyrillic fonts.
For one thing, VFP6 used printer drivers a bit differently than VFP 8, and this causes the difference you see. Never mind why, right now <g>.
For another thing, VFP 8 and all versions below, and also VFP 9 old-style preview use *screen* fonts, not print fonts, to render to the screen. (VFP 9 new-style will show you print fonts in preview).
So, what you're really seeing is that your printer driver doesn't have appropriate print characters for that font, I think. This is why Borislav indicates that you can fix it by changing the printer driver.
He also indicates that, in 9, you can send fontcharset for items in a report. This is true but you can also set it as a report default rather than for individual items if you like. You may need to do it for all existing items if it is an existing report, I can't remember, but new reports, or new items in a report created after you set this default, should observe the report default for fontcharset.
