One option would be to encrypt the data with something like Cryptor. That way, even if the tables are copied it will be difficult to extract their information.

IIRC some people have stored their data in a hidden folder. However this is a simple trick that won't fool anyone with a modicum of cracking skills.

Besides that, as Hilmar suggests you're looking at client-server, or an emulation of such using VFP.
