mget ftp command allows to use wildcards.

We have a question: how to determine if file is completely uploaded? E.g. is there an analogue of 'ReadyState' as in HTML? The problem was that the client constantly uploaded files and VFP (or Clipper) program got the files from some directory. However, some of the files were not completely loaded and therefore the program crashed. Do you have ideas of how to solve this problem?

BTW, yesteday I tried to add a comment on your site directly but always was re-directed to Encyclopedia Britannica to an article about etiquette :)
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
