Because he indicated that it will eventually move there and he wants to keep the VFP stuff running. By doing a phased approach, one can concentrate on learning and implementing the n-tier stuff and not worry about the web stuff. The biz and data objects will have to be done when moving to the web...I'm suggesting a way that should make the transition easier.
