During some -- but not all -- passes thru a section of code we receive error 12: "Variable incrmntas not found." This refers to a free VFP table column. In the prior line of code we check to make sure it is open. In the same method (before the error occurs), we execute a seek and then an RLOCK on the same table. In the debugger the column is, of course, visible, and if we Set Next Statement back to the line that errors, it executes normally.

The problem does not occur on every pass through this line of code. What could be making the column -- but not the table -- not be available?
