Looking for experience

I have been doing Fox development sense Foxbase. The first few years were working for Fletcher Johnson's Birchwood Systems development shop. We worked as a teem, developed frameworks and followed procedures that led to quality stuff. For the last 6 years I have been maintaining a FPD2.6 accounting app on my own. I want to rewrite it in VFP, but when I try to anything, I feel like a 8-track tape expert trying to work on CDdrives. I have gone to 2 devcons, a few all day classes, user group meetings, subscribe to FoxTalk, read a few books, etc. The problem is: every time I sit down and try and develop even the simplest of apps, I end up with a bunch of unorganized mumbo. I am looking for a place to work for a while to catch up with current technology. I am willing to 'pay' for this, in the form of my time. I have the last half of my weeks free to pursue this.
