Installation, Setup and Configuration
Hi Fred, I did try your suggestion of copy the contents of the DVD to my local drive and had no luck doing that. I plan on calling Microsoft tech support next week...
>>I have upgraded from VFP 6 to 7 to 8 no problem. Today I tried to install the VFP 9 upgrade on my Dell Inspiron 8100 notebook running Windows XP and am unable to install.
>>
>>I have an Epson Stylus CX4600 printer/scanner/copier that was NOT connected via USB during the first time I tried to install. What happens is the VFP 9 setup program runs and enables the check for prerequisites (other options are disabled). I click on the prerequisites and after a while I get a "Copy Utility" dialog with prompts pertaining to the Epson printer!
>>
>>I have no idea why the printer has anything to do with installing the VFP 9 upgrade. Twice I did a SCAN and print for the printer but can get no further. There must be some type of conflict between VFP 9 install and the Epson printer.
>>
>>Anyone else had any problems upgrading? Like I said I have done the VFP 6, 7 and 8 upgrades the process prompts look the same. Only trouble is that those would install but my new VFP 9 software will not install....
>
>The Windows installer seems to get confused between VFP and other applications. A way that I've heard that works (I haven't tried it) is to copy the CD to a temp directory on your local harddrive and start the setup from there.
