To further elaborate on Tore's reply, the main reasons why you should not save pictures in a General field are:

(1) They take up too much space. A 50 KB JPG file might take up 1 MB in the General field, for instance.

(2) There is no easy way to get the pictures back out of the General field.

>hi all,
>i need a bit of help on a wierd one. in our application we allow you to save a picture into a general field in the table. on my local machine this works fine. i can see the picture in the table behind the scenes and i can display it on a screen. however when i copy it up to a customers server and view it all i get is an icon instead of the image. i have gone as far as to copy my set of files where it works fine up to their server and try that. in this case anything i did on my pc works fine but anything new that i add does not. this has me really stumped so any ideas are very much appreciated.
>i am on w2k pro sp4 with vfp8sp1, i am running the application on their server which is w2k fully patched, they do not have vfp installed, just using runtime.

Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
