"Document" is a table with two fields: ole_name C(30), ole_object G. I have a control on the form with ControlSource = Document.ole_object. I have no problem accessing the document from this object.

I agree the phenomena is strange and irritating. Could it VFP 3.0? I will try using the same form in VFP 5.0 to see if this work better.
