Dear John,

>>Fox is easier to learn than C++. That's a fact, ask anyone who programs in C.

But you didn't stop there. According to you, this ease of use is why you see so much VFP spaghetti that wouldn't be seen in a "real" language. You turned "ease of use" into a negative. Therein lies the difference of opinion.

>>Name any bigtime VFP guru of, oh say, 2-5 years ago. Where are they now? All are in the .Net mainstream.

All?! For the sake of sensible argument, lets say "many".

Of course! That's the nature of a guru. The Gurus who moved early have leapfrogged to juicy positions in the dotNET world. Those are the realities of the guru game. So what? Not everybody models themselves on gurus or supposes that if a guru does it, it much be correct for everybody.

>>Some (gurus) keep their fingers in VFP becuase they have an income stream from it. No income stream, they wouldn't be here...

You seem to be saying it is OK to make $ from VFP as long as you blow the dotNET bugle.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
