>>>I guess my sense of sarcasm was lost on the group. I was being absurd to point out the absurdity of Terry's reasoning. Fox is easier to learn than most other languages, because in most other languages, you have to write your own routines. Fox has given us most of those routines out of the box. I remmeber having to write all sorts of sort objects in C and pascal, definately more time consuming and harder to understand than SET ORDER TO.

>>OK, but imo thats a point in favour of VFP. I didnt want to mess around with memory allocations and all that jazz. I wanted to write software quickly, faster than my competitors.

>I can sometimes write code faster, unless you have an unruly ole object to deal with. To me, the poor interaction between vfp and com, ole, etc, is one of the drawbacks.

>I like fox, I program in fox for a living, it is a great software package, but it is not the be-all end-all that most here thinks it is.
I dont think any dev tool is the be all and end all. I dont think there ever will be one. And I dont think that many here think that either. I think you sometimes miss-read enthusiasm and passion for a dev tool that many have invested a huge amount of time in learning and have had great success with and continue to have success with.
