>>>Many thanks to all of you; John, Hugo, Claudio, & Thomas. Now the hard part. It's time to get to work and start learning again. I suppose that is what keeps us all young and addicted to caffine.

Evan;

Yes many things have some amount of caffeine – even candy bars. One thing about caffeine is that it can be a real health problem. How much caffeine is in a beverage or food?

The caffeine content in coffee can vary greatly. As an example data was collected from a number of sources using decaf and regular coffee. The decaf from StarBucks averaged 6 mg per cup and Peets Coffee was as high as 180 mg! Again that is decaf!

The caffeine content of regular coffee varies but nothing like the decaf example above! Anything in excess can be a problem for you. Ten years ago I drank 10 cups of coffee from 6 AM to noon each day. Now I drink two cups of Green Tea per day and in the early morning. I tried decaf Green Tea and did not like it.

Two years ago I was about to give a performance at a flamenco event in San Jose. My wife and I got there early to get ready. We each had a cup of decaf coffee which was available to us. Both of us had a bad reaction to the coffee. Our hearts took off at a high rate. I thought I was having a serious problem. That was not an enjoyable experience! From that time on I have avoided all types of coffee. You never know what is inside the cup! :)
