It really depends on what kind of resource you want to synchronize access... There aren't that many case where a regular VFP application has to think about thread or process synchronization (as opposed to record access synchronization using RLOCK or FLOCK). In AFP we use some synchronization mechanisms like MUTEXes, but this happens to protect access to shared memory and other API object.
