Hi Joe,
To add to what Rick told you, for a multiuser environment if using Access97 you might want to look into it's replication features. Benefits to this would be the users could work faster because system is local and only access server to replicate (sync up their local copy with the server copy) and if ever needed users with notebooks can use the system while away from the office.
As a side note: If the system you are creating for them is relatively small to medium in size (especially in relation to the projected amount of data it must handle) then Access may be fine. If the requirements are going to be bigger I would suggest going with VFP and then going the ODBC route if integration is needed with existing Access apps. Food for thought HTH.
