I really wonder how the VS team is going to do this. As datasets are objects and not just a flat fileformat just as VFP cursors are. In order to do this, you first have to map a dataset to a fileformat in order to flush it to disk. If this is done, it begs the question, why stop here ? If you've got a fileformat thought out, why not having a native fileformat for ADO.NET datasets ? IOWs building a complete database engine out of ADO.NET.

It certainly would be interesting to see how things progress.
