The bloating is normal, even in a non-corrupt memo. Any time you modify a memo FoxPro adds the modified version to the end of the FPT and re-links the DBF to the memo's new location. This allows for great speed, but fast-growing memos. You should pack the table or at least PACK MEMO periodically.
>I ran FoxFix and it found 883 invalid links, out of 900. When fixed with FoxFix, the result is losing the 883 memo's. Thank goodness my client does proper backups!

>When I open the .FPT with a Hexidecimal editor, it looks like the file has folded over onto itself a bunch of times, and also has a lot of junk. I was wondering if this kind of bloating corruption is common of VFP or may be more hardware oriented?
