I think our messages just 'crossed' in the post....

So we're sure that VFP8 handles the SetUpClient() without error and .CreateSale() errors with:

HRESULT=0x800A1527 - Client:Sending the Soap message failed or no recognizable response was received

I'd still be interested to hear how the code I just sent works with VFP7 (ultimately I'm sure that if you can get it working in VFP8 then it can be made to work in VFP7).

I'd also definitely suggest hooking in the soap trace tool to see if it reveals more detail. There may also be some useful information in the server logs if you can get someone to look. That might at least determine whether your request was hitting the site and, if so whether the service was sending a response..
