Not quite sure... I've got specs several times during the last five years that required a lot of explanation until I understood what the what did they mean. For one, in medical education, I've had residents (ok, everyone should live somewhere), fellows (yes, they're all jolly good fellows) and several other common words which had special meanings in the context. Took me half an hour to get those straight.

Or, "server banking" in a retail/restaurant app. The app had just moved from VFP tables to SQL server, so I thought this must be some form of server farm, or cluster, or whatever they decided to call the grouping of machines. Sounded pretty much like the memory banks we have on motherboards... the more the merrier. Well, wrong - it's actually keeping track of the waiters' (hence "server" - they do serve) tips (ah - money, so we bank it). This one took much longer to sort out.

While doing a sports app, I also couldn't figure why are these guys wearing jerseys, why not arizonas or texases... and why is the same thing called "dres" in my language, and why was the cloth named jersey (žersej) used only for ladies' dresses there...

The simplicity of English (which is really easy to learn to a basic level) would be great if it didn't lead to so much ambiguity.
