>I just noticed you are in Bolivia... that brings back memories of a wonderful week I spent in Santa Cruz and Samipata (not sure of the spelling there :)). What a beautiful place!
I lived in Santa Cruz for about two and a half years.
The spelling is Samaipata, which is translated into Spanish as "descanso en las alturas" (rest (repose) in the heights"). The word is from the Quechua language, the language of the Inka empire, and still spoken by millions of Bolivians.
I visited Samaipata briefly, once. There are some interesting archeological remains there.
Santa Cruz, I understand, is now Bolivia's largest city. It has grown tremendously in the last few years.
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
