In the past I have had no problem with this at all; I am trying to add a third party component to my toolbox for a windows form.
ToolBox > Components > Customize Toolbox > .NET Framework Components.
I select .NET Framework Components tab, wait about 1 minute and than I get the following error:

This application cannot run using that active version of the Microsoft .NET Runtime

After clicking OK, VS-2002 either freezes or sends me to the JIT debugger.


I have both VS-2002 & VS-2003 installed. I have .NET Framework 1 with SP3 and .NET Framework 1.1 with SP1. I have tried repairing the installation of VS-2002. Nothing works.

Any ideas out there?
