Here is a good one from a television news report last night. People from around the world are going to places like Thailand for medical procedures. For instance that $20,000 tummy tuck is only $7000 in Thailand. A doctor from Thailand spent much of his professional career in Modesto, California and was interviewed. He had moved back to Thailand. The doctor said it was not very different working in Thailand than being in Modesto- all his patients spoke English.

The above news blur gave me a great idea! Out source all medical treatment covered by insurance for the United States to Thailand! Your present medical insurance company would simply require you to work with doctors within your “group”. So your "group" is on the other side of the world? Who cares?

Imagine the cost savings! This would reduce the cost of medical insurance premiums and allow employers to hire more employees! What a great idea! Washingtom will love this!

But then, if the medical insurance companies implement such a plan I would bet that they would continue to raise premiums and give less coverage as they have done for the last 20 years. It is all in the profits and has nothing to do with “patient care”. Or is that “lack of patient care”?
