I said "what I am looking for is some consistency". Maybe a better word is "opredelennost'". How do you say it in English? Determination?

Still, this is inconsistent to me:
"Filter" condition only tries to lock records if they are "suspect" based on their "last known" state. "Join" condition locks records even to *see* if they are suspect.
"Filter" condition is re-applied after a record is locked. "Join" condition is not.

This is affecting my program performance and even outcome. And I didn't want to see a difference between join and filter in the first place.

Wouldn't having isolation levels help determine what developer really wants without making assumptions on his behalf?
