>I have a project starting shortly that will involve creation of a database to store information about buildings (dimensions, pipe locations, ...) and lots of photos. The client really wants an Access database for now, maybe SQL Server later. While Access can store images, it may be more efficient to store the base files in a network directory and use a third-party viewer. I will obviously need to store the directory path and photo file name within the Access database. So, Has anyone done this stuff before will success? Any clues would be appreciated.

Nothing really special here.
Store the photo's path in an Access datatbase and load the photo in a Image or Picture control. They support BMP, GIF & JPEG.
If you need to support more format, check LeadTools from Lead technologies or PhotoPro from Pegasus.
