You can just plug another keyboard and give it a try.

Another thing I had problems with, when I had funny behaviors of the keyboard, are accesibility options. They may be a great help to people who need them, but if you accidentally had any of that installed (or, worse, turned on) or hijacked by any of the viruses, I'd recommend you to try completely uninstalling anything connected to accessibility (dang, even Access itself :).

Not sure this would help, though, but it's worth checking, lacking better ideas.
