Kevin is a visionary.
Is there a glowing halo round his head? We are all visionaries. Writing software is an abstract processs. We start with nothing. We finish with something.

He has a string of major apps in both VFP and dotnet. He probably has more experince programming and runnning his own business than you. He saw the handwriting on the wall as did Kevin McNeish, JVP, Jim Duffy, et. al.

My daddy can beat up your daddy! The first rule of "business" is not to "bad mouth" the ideas or aspirations of others. Never be negative (or berate) the competition. Debate issues, not abstractions. Honey is preferred to vinegar.

The problem with trash-mouthing is those you are sharing your thoughts with may fear that you will offer a negative opinion about them when they are out of earshot.

If you want to stay with a dying product that still has some following, then stay here with your head in the sand.
You sound like JVP - what you say only matters to you - is it not a bit arrogant to assume your opinion is important to those you speak with?

If you want to move on, then understand the place of VFP in the world of software development and pick a current development platform with a higher degree of accepatance.
Again you suggest that your brothers and sisters on the UT are too lame brained to make their decisions or come to their own conclusions.

>You need to take a strong dose of castor oil so you clean out your system. Once you can see and speak clearly, you may have something worth listening to. JMHO
John - we love you! But your communiaction style could use a little work. Read Rick Strahls papers and posts. He has an opinion - to be sure. But he would never accuse someone with a different view (or less experience) of being an idiot. Read his whites papers - he is having fun - granted he is doing business - but he loves his job. Do you love your job?

There is a "passive" technique. Asking questions about the preferences of others is better than "absolute" assertions and name calling.

Do you still kick your dog?:-) Relax John - we're all friends - and we may even be as smart and dedicated as you.
Imagination is more important than knowledge
