It was just last week that the purchase went thru. I read about it in WSJ. But for the life of me, I can't remember who the purchaser was. I just remember that it's not Comcast.

Why don't you like TW? According to another article I read, the will be some side affects if TW and Comcast pursue the joint purchase of Adelphia. One of the side affects will be that they will swap some customers to gain stronger footholds. This will include Comcast giving TW all their Los Angeles customers (this includes me).

I don't have satelite. But I would think they do offer 1080i. DirectTv just launched a satellite whose purpose is to carry up to 1,000 HD channels.

>History is littered with products that were purchased for a percentage of what the product represented, not all. VOOM HD television was just purchased. Many analysts are predicting that the main value the purchaser is acquiring is the satellites that VOOM uses. Customers are SOL.

>Who purchased VOOM? I hope it was not Time Warner or VIA COM - I am trying to get away from them - and I love that HDTV (only a few channels in my TW market).

>I know this is off topic too - but does rain really affect reception? Does satelite offer i1080?
