Reliability is not a feature that is built into the DBF system. It is simply a file system like TXT test files or anything else. There is not one feature in VFP that does anything to protect or repair corrupt DBF files, or to deal with power failures during updates, etc. Transactions can help with this, but it is all via custom coding and nothing native to the DBF engine or file system itself. I'm not saying anything negative about VFP, just stating the facts as they are.
