>I don't agree with your conclusion. For proof, look at the dozens and dozens of new features we just added to VFP 9.0 which relate to using the DBF system in VFP including enhancing the SELECT SQL language, adding new datatypes, etc. While some of it increases compatibility with SQL Server, all the enhancements increase the features helping developers use the DBF system. From our surveys, just over half of VFP developers use SQL Server as the data store for their VFP applications. So we worked on two things in this area for VFP 9.0, enhancing SQL Server interop with VFP and enhancing the database system for DBF/DBC databases. While we encourage people to consider using SQL Server "when needed", we enhance and promote the DBF system and VFP 9.0 is a great example of that.

You don't agree with MY conclusion? This is not MY conclusion it's what seems to be the spreaded idea. It looks like low blows are ok within MS development products (Right now I only see VFP in that category. Please refresh my memory if there are others <g>), as long as VS.Net and SQL-Server get out of those with all the advantages.

we enhance and promote the DBF system

LOL Oh yeah. In certain situations one can say "With friends like that who needs ennemies".

Too bad there's not an equivalent for the description that we'd like to be changed. Perhaps something like "With marketing like that no need to trash more"

It does'nt look like what was asked for is a lot. Just a change to a description. You know that description that can be understood as "DBF = trash, SQL-Server = Nirvana"

At worst 30 minutes and everything would be ok. Sorry probably not because it could give a justification to the DBF usage. And THAT would'nt be acceptable to the controlling forces within MS.

Why do you keep replying to me with details about the improvements to VFP. I'm pushing VFP every chance I get. I use it exclusively (for the time being = as long as it's doing what I need to do) I don't get it please explain?
