The free tables won't make a difference as far as your choice goes. The main difference is with a CA, you will not need the DBC files. You might find that working with a CA gives you more flexibility over views.
>I am about to embark on a project where I am rewriting an existing FPD 2.6 application in VFP8. Initially there will be other applications accessing the original tables, so they have to remain as free-tables for the foreseeable future. My application framwork makes extensive use of views for viewing and updating data, but I am wondering if this is the time to move over to using cursoradapters instead of local views. Are there any advantages of using a CA over a local view of native data? Will the fact that the datasources are free-tables make any difference?
