>I've got a request to help find out what an inmate is communicating over a tty device. Apparently he has made threats against our gang and narcotics units - something about stolen hand grenades and uzis or something like that. Anyway, I told the jail to make sure the transmissions are captured to a file and we'd figure out how to play it. The phone company techs have done that part, now I need to be able to play the files. Anyone have experience with something of this nature - not the grenade or gun part.<g>

A TTY works with audio tones. A TTY message can be recorded to a voice mail box and played back into a TTY machine; the message will be printed out. It might be simpler to capture the TTY signal via a standard recording phone tap and play it back into a TTY.
