>One of our "mainframe" geniuses here said that we shouldn't buy Visual FoxPro 9.0 because it hasn't been tried and proven to work. You know, I can't believe how many of these guys I have run into who know nothing about the product and yet are so willing to throw mud at it. I straightened him out ASAP and told him that I had been using the VFP 9.0 BETA and that it was a very stable product. At that point, he only said, "Okay". Because of my height, I bulldozed past his argument and was able to get my way. The order for VFP 9.0 went through on my recommendation.

No matter how good this product is, and it is obviously a great product, there is always some "knowledgeable" MIS person ready to slam it, having never known anything about it. But, can you trust a mainframe person anyway?
