I think an artificial langusge would be the best choice, but I think unless something happens worldwide to create a unified government with a unified language, it will be English. Not because it is the best choice (far from it) but because it more commonly used in politics worldwide and commerce (not to mention the internet). Probably music or math makes more sense though. Numbers are universal and so is music. We could just all hum tones... :o)
