>Victor,
>Thanks. I was aware of most of that but some was helpful. I have migrated 2 VFP 7 databases to VistaDB for testing purposes. Some things in the DataBuilder appear to be very slow but that could be because of my lack of familiarity with the product. I am really looking for a Database that can be deployed easily, has good speed, and is stable. VFP has bitten me too many time with missing records and/or corrupted tables.

>I plan to rewrite some VFP applications into 3 tiers using .Net and MereMortals. I would love to be able to use VistaDB as the backend but at this point I have nothing to go on except the info on their web site. If the product is that good, or nearly that good, then there is no question that I will move in that direction.

Have you looked into MySQL yet? http://www.mysql.com/

and as for the definition of a TechnoHippie...I guess that would be a long-haired-computer-programmer...hahaha. I've taken my website offline for the moment but I'll have it back up in a couple more weeks. (its being overhauled). Anyway you can see the TechnoHippie Software logo on the old one which is here... http://web.archive.org/web/20010724014114/http://www.technohippiesoftware.com/
