The Scots have their own delicacy - deep-fried Mars Bars - in batter. You can get it in a "chippy". By the way, we DO know what chilli is, you know! (hell we even have Mex-Tex restaurants). I used to make it a lot, as a young-un, even sprinkling chilli powder on it as a condiment (when my guts were made of iron)
:-)

Not sure we have any equivalent to the US stuff. There is "Toad-in-the-Hole" - sausages set in batter, like Yorkshire Pudding, cooked in the oven, then gravy poured over it. But I guess it's not too unhealthy.

>>>What is "Poutine"?

>>In a bowl you put french fries, a kind of cheese we have over here called "Fromage en grains" and you put a kinda spicy hot sauce on it.
>>
>>I know I know it sounds weird like that but it's eatable. It was invented over here.
>>
>>And don't tell me it's disgusting. I heard about that bloody thing you guys eat 8-D

>Down here we have an artery clogging version called Chili Cheese Fries. French fries covered with a cheese sauce product (some of which might actually have been near a cow at some point in it's manufacture) and then topped with chili (a spicy tomato based stew with ground beef and beans)...
