I haven't checked, but I would highly doubt it. We were having a PDF issue earlier this year. I went researching on Adobe's site and I reviewed many some post's from 5.0 days. In every case of a problem the first answer was to use Distiller instead of PDFWriter. That was why it was removed, due to many problems.

We changed our s/w to default to Distiller, if present, and have not had any problems.
