>>The Scots have their own delicacy - deep-fried Mars Bars - in batter. You can get it in a "chippy".

>I was just reading about those on the airplane flight Sunday night. I'm going to have to try one of those!
One good thing we get over here though is Mars Bars ice cream. You guys get those over there (also Cadbury's ice cream, Bounties, Kit-kat, etc., etc. - all the major choc bars have an ice cream equiv.)?

>>By the way, we DO know what chilli is, you know! (hell we even have Mex-Tex restaurants).

>Ummm that should be Tex-Mex restaurants. *L*

>>Not sure we have any equivalent to the US stuff. There is "Toad-in-the-Hole" - sausages set in batter, like Yorkshire Pudding, cooked in the oven, then gravy poured over it. But I guess it's not too unhealthy.

>Biscuits and sausage gravy is about the closest thing. It's big in the US south. It's a milk/flour based gravy made from the pan drippings left from frying the sausage. Then you break up the sausage and put it in the gravy abd pour it over the biscuits.
I believe I've had something like it. Are the biscuits like shortbread?
