Well I managed to create the code that wrote out the RS to a file. That seemed to work fine and no error came up. The only thing I do not like is the added IO of writing the RS out in order that the calling module can read it back it again. But it does prove to me that Cold Fusion MX7 has a problem with record sets being passed out of a module.

By the way I am sure XML will over take RS in the not so distant future, which is why this is a 3 tier application. When I get a chance I will be changing the tier from record sets to XML.

Thanks again for your help.

>Wish I could be of nay help but don't know anything about Cold Fusion. With ASP or ASP.Net I'd probably choose to return as XML instead. With VFP it's easier to deal with XML than with an RS and IMHO RS' days are counted.

>>Thanks, that is what I need to know, also I will test out the second part of your answer shortly. As I have to translate it to Cold Fusion and test it out. It is not as simple as VFP, but then again Web Programming never is. :)
