I have a table that keeps up with users logged on to my app.

The user instance uses SPT to write to the table. This is done on specific intervals. A date stamp routine.

I have an application monitor that also accesses this table at specific intervals to view the users logged on and weather their connection is current.

I keep getting eratic connection errors. I suppose both sides are hitting the table at the same time. How do I trap around these misfires?
