Eck! I just saw your reference to eating a chip butty with peanut butter on it. I've rarely eaten food that made me retch straight off but PB is one. I reckon if the Good Lord had meant us to eat it he would have given us Teflon-coated mouths. And as for PBJ, which it seems half of N. America was brought up on, it's virtually unheard of over here.
