hi Rajesh,

>>Object orientation is not in Crystal reports
maintainance is top priority. We have 40 reports, and there will be more later. We need OOP to keep maintainance within reasonable limits.

>>but it's better than the VFP's Report buider
true, VFP report engine is limited, but we know what we have when using it. Crystal keeps on posing new problems.

>>yes about the cursors, instead of that you can pass the View's,
i like cursors, i think they are the cleanest way to get what you want.

>>thirdly you were telling about the alignment, yes the alignment thru arrow keys is not possible when you are in the preview mode, but it is ofcourse possible when u are in design mode..

sometimes i can't move fields with my arrow keys in design mode....maybe i have a specific problem

>>please specify what exactly you need in Crystal reports as such I am trying to surf it because I am working on passing the selection criteria for the filtered records..

well, i have classes to prepare all the data, where all the selction criteria are forced on the data. All i need the report engine to do is to display it properly, just reading from the tables. The alignment is my worst problem. It's hard to explain nonvisually, but when the fields 'snap to grid', they don't align correctly on a printout. Plus, in 5 (we now have a 6 upgrade) subreports crashed! Another thing i don't like is the way CR forces you to use wizards.

Thanks for replying
