Well I will keep looking for it. I'm guessing some fancy-shmancy gourmet shop may have it.
I like the ones I do (just for myself) in peanut oil, but always happy to find a better one.
cheers
>Hi,
>
>Cotton seed oil is not easy to get hold of retail, it is mainly only available in bulk quantities i.e. for commericial cooking etc.
>
>Also a lot is blended into other oils to improve there favour/cooking qualities. A lot of people would get a shock, if they found out what was in their extra virgin oils, and what gave them their distrinctive favours.
>
>Also there is a lot of misinformation put out by other oil manufaturers, which I evaluted when choosing what oil to use, I put a lot of time into it. What is stated in cottonseed link is very close to the way it is.
>
>I also have done a lot of work in the cotton industry itself, with the design, installation and commissioning of the Gin control systems, we still have to upgrade about another 20 Gins once the drought here breaks, so I am aware of what goes into the processing etc, and I can tell you it is pretty strict.
>
>When cooking over 2 tonnes of chips a week, we were using about 100 Litres of oil a week, which, if we were using the other alternatives would have been about 190 litres per week, there were not only cost savings, but the final cooked product was vastly superior.
>
>Anyway I was only trying to enlighten others with my findings.
