I've looked at the code and the only thing I would suspect is ASSERTS and SET ASSERT.
Maybe comment these lines of stdcode.prg:

#IF NOT LEFT( VERSION(), 17 ) == "Visual FoxPro 03."
...
#ENDIF

ATTENTION: There are several occurances!

If VFP3 can live without these lines, VFP9 can too. It's merely better error handling.
Additional to that WAIT WINDOWs might also be a problem, even if these are only executed, if a var riInfo is set .t..
