OK, I understand. Now I agree with Jim Booth that it's proper to have tables with independent field positions - but I can imagine sometimes you just need them in a certain order for clever algorithms to work, right :-))
Anyway, I've got a program called "Alter" which I can send you - it is a program I have used for years, with slight mods for VFP. It probably only works on free tables, but I can send it if you want. All you would need to do is alter its innards to sort the array of fields. Interested???...
