Well, I'm confused. I'm opening the VFP 9 help file and there, near the very top, clear as the day, is the phrase: "You must first open the table exclusively before using the SET TABLEVALIDATE command." I don't believe it, or at least I can't see that it makes sense to have this requirement, but there it is in my help file. It's quite strange that you are not seeing the same thing. I never had the public beta on this machine and I installed using the download off MSDN as soon as it became available. Where did you install from?
