I guess this way my bad. If I leave the BindingSourceMember as CadCallTypeFK, and use a view to display the FK value, the ErrorProvider shows up just fine.

I probably just don't understand everything yet, but it seems strange that for a ListBox or a ComboBox, you can set the BindingValueSource member to the biz objects field you're checking, and it works just fine.
